Giving the future of the Italian truffle to promote agricultural entrepreneurship, relaunch a sustainable and quality supply chain.

“Giving new life to uncultivated land, preserving a heritage symbol of the excellence of Made in Italy: the truffle.

Wealth, biodiversity and long-term sustainability are Truffleland’s goals.

The precious and fascinating world of truffles is endangered by factors such as abandonment of the maintenance of the woods and deforestation of suitable areas left uncultivated.

The loss of a genetic biodiversity of the truffle would then contribute to a cultural flattening and would lead to a loss of popular traditions, uses and customs.

The Truffleland project was born from the pure passion and entrepreneurial audacity of the Urbani Tartufi company which has taken on the responsibility of increasing the Italian production of truffles through the development of a complete system, to propose a turnkey business and offer concrete professional opportunities. .

Truffleland, starts from a large nursery located in Scheggino in Valnerina, which produces mycorrhized plants for the cultivation of truffles with a revolutionary methodology.

New truffle plants that are born, in the center of infinite natural truffle fields, which have been there for centuries and that need new strength.

They are oak, hazelnut and hornbeam plants, cared for one by one by loving and expert hands.

Then planted outside, for five years they sit quietly absorbing all the nourishment, patiently waiting for the earth to ripen.

The Truffleland seedlings are treated with a technique patented by Urbani Tartufi, which ensures a mycorrhization of at least 70%, i.e. the highest concentration of fruiting spores compared to the European market average, thus guaranteeing ample harvest possibilities.

The result of the anxious wait is the truffle, a unique and fragrant food, a miracle of nature.

Truffleland blends its precision agriculture and smart-farm techniques with the traditional ones of a centenary profession. Microchips are inserted in the Truffleland plantations which help to monitor each phase of the production process and which will be useful in the future to study why some plants produce more truffles and others less. “
